We do super cool things. (literally!)

Founded in September of 2022, h-Bar Instruments is a company dedicated to the design and development of novel metrology instruments. We are currently developing a state-of-the-art liquid-helium TEM specimen holder capable of reaching ultra-cold temperatures with high stability over 8+ hour hold times! Some of our recent results were presented at the 2023 Microscopy and Microanalysis conference (see the conference proceedings). Future developments will be posted at http://www.hbarinstruments.com/ when they become available!

Before officially incorporating, ħ Instruments completed 2022 Summer II Cohort of the national NSF I-Corps program to determine market viability of our low-temperature transmission electron microscope (TEM) specimen holder. As the team’s entrepreneurial lead, I conducted over 100 interviews with experts in microscopy and related fields and received the program’s “Spirit of I-Corps" Award upon conclusion of the program.

Representing ħ Instruments, I also completed MIT’s The Engine “Blueprint” program in Fall of 2022, an entrepreneurship course designed to guide tough tech founders through the commercialization process.
